Gender Care

We value your journey and feel privileged to join you as you explore the medical services and support our Mary Bridge Children’s team offers.

Mary Bridge Children’s does not provide gender-affirming surgeries. We provide a holistic approach to gender-affirming health care for adolescents using the best clinical evidence and science available. Our integrated, multi-disciplinary team includes experts in endocrinology, adolescent medicine, behavioral health and social work.

Gender health care at Mary Bridge Children’s is a referral-based service and all new patients must first be evaluated by our multi-disciplinary team prior to being accepted for care. Please have your primary care provider submit a referral to the Mary Bridge Children’s Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic with a gender dysphoria diagnosis. Once a referral has been sent, our gender health care coordinator will contact you directly to provide additional information and schedule this evaluation.

How to refer a patient

Please fax referrals to the Mary Bridge Children’s Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic at 253-864-3939.

Crisis support resources

Several nationally recognized organizations that serve transgender and gender-diverse teens and young adults offer crisis support. Crisis lines are available for people who need immediate help and identify as transgender or gender diverse.

Friends and family who may be worried about a loved one can also use these resources. If you need additional mental health services, our social worker can provide a list of gender-affirming mental health providers.
