Gyan Shrestha, MD, is a board-certified pediatric neurologist who specializes in treating patients with epilepsy. To treat patients with epilepsy effectively and meaningfully, he offers comprehensive, personalized care with an emphasis on enhancing outcomes and quality of life for those who experience seizures.
To ensure that his patient gets the best care possible, he also works to build collaborative, multidisciplinary teams for individualized epilepsy therapy and medication resistant seizure care that includes newer treatment modalities such as newer medication including CBD oil, ketogenic diet, vagus nerve stimulator (VNS) as well as discussion regarding various surgical options.
He also oversees numerous epilepsy clinical trials. He is constantly looking for new, more effective approaches to treat hereditary/genetic epilepsy as well as medication-resistant epilepsy.
The conditions Dr. Shrestha treats include:
- Neonatal and childhood epilepsy
- Infantile spasms
- Medication resistant epilepsy and genetic epilepsy including Dravet’s syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome
- Migraine, headache syndromes, and other chronic and complex headache disorders
- Childhood movement disorders including Tourette syndrome and related Tic disorders
- Neurodevelopmental disorders including autism
- Cerebral palsy
- Traumatic and sport related brain injury such as concussion
