Kids flourish when they live in safe and nurturing environments. That’s why our commitment to caring for children extends beyond the confines of our hospital and clinics. Our patient and family support services cover a range of needs, from injury and abuse prevention to food security and more, at no cost to you.
Help navigating grief and loss
The Bridges Center for Grieving Children supports families with children between the ages of 4 and 18 who are coping with the death or serious illness of a loved one. Services include in-person support groups led by a facilitator, a bereavement camp for youth, as well as educational resources. Visit Bridges Center for Grieving Children.
Safety and injury prevention
The Center for Childhood Safety aims to prevent unintentional childhood injuries through health education, community partnerships and best practice interventions. The center provides car seat inspections and loans life jackets free of charge.

Child abuse prevention, support for victims and families
The Child Abuse Intervention (CAID) Department supports families when child abuse is suspected or discovered by providing medical treatment, forensic exams, health care referrals and family advocacy services. CAID, in partnership with other organizations, also provides community trainings for parents, caregivers and professionals. Visit CAID.
Vaccines and vaccine education
The Immunization Clinic provides free vaccines for newborns and children up to age 19. You can also find a wealth of information about how vaccines work, vaccine ingredients, vaccine safety and your child’s recommended vaccine schedule. Visit the Immunization Clinic.
Nutrition support and food security
The Pediatric Wellness program, for children ages 2-17, is designed to help kids eat well, supporting growth and development in the present and healthy habits for a lifetime. Led by registered dietitians, the Pediatric Wellness program helps families develop a positive relationship with food and raise competent eaters. Visit the Pediatric Wellness program.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Services provides supplemental nutrition for those who are pregnant and breastfeeding as well as infants and children under 5. This program also offers referrals to medical and dental providers, along with other community resources. To be eligible, participants must reside in Washington state and meet certain household income guidelines. Visit WIC Nutrition Services.
