Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Level IV NICU at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital
Babies who are born prematurely or with medical complications may need to receive specialized care in a NICU after delivery. As a Level IV NICU, we are equipped with the expertise and technology to deliver the highest level of care available for newborns.
Whether your baby experiences a preterm birth, is born with a complex medical condition or has a more moderate health concern, our NICU staff provide around-the-clock intensive care and support.
A comprehensive continuum of care
Mary Bridge Children’s provides access to a full range of pediatric medical subspecialists, including surgeons, who collaborate with NICU staff to meet your baby’s needs. We also offer a wide range of support services for your newborn, from medical transport to ongoing care in our Neonatal Follow-up Clinic.
Neonatal transport service
Critically ill newborns from across Southwest Washington rely on the advanced services of our Level IV NICU. Our neonatal transport team supplies safe ground and air medical transport for hundreds of infants annually.
The transport team consists of registered nurses and respiratory therapists trained in delivering critical care to children and babies. If requested, the transport team will respond to a referral facility and assist in delivery room resuscitation, stabilization and transport of a newborn.
