Healthy school lunch laid out showing milk, apple, cheese and crackers, humus and vegetables.

In partnership with the USDA Summer Food Service Program, Mary Bridge Children's Outpatient Center is a sponsor site, offering free meals throughout the summer for children under 18 years old.

“It’s important for children to have adequate nutrition, especially with school out for the summer,” says Peggy Norman, MS, RD, health program promotion manager with Mary Bridge Children’s community services department. “Providing meals and snacks for children is a large task for any parent or caregiver and so we hope that participating in this program helps relieve some of that stress for families.”

Program requirements ask that the child be present and that the meal is enjoyed on site. The program is open to any child, but current MultiCare Health System visitor policies still apply.

The free lunches are available inside the Mary Bridge Children’s Outpatient Center (311 South L Street, Tacoma), Monday through Friday, from 11am to 1pm, until September 2, 2022.
