Don’t delay childhood immunizations
Mary Bridge Children’s encourages you talk to your child’s doctor or nurse to ensure your child is up to date on recommended vaccines. We want to ensure you get an appointment scheduled as soon as possible so your child is ready to return to school on time in the fall.
You have the power to protect yourself and your family against serious diseases like whooping cough, chicken pox, measles, and cancers caused by HPV through on-time vaccination.
Immunizations are the best defense against preventing many communicable diseases that can cause severe illness and death. Vaccination helps provide immunity before children are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases. One of the best ways to help keep your child safe and healthy is by giving them all recommended vaccinations.
Following are some of the vaccines that are especially recommended:
- MMR Vaccine to defend against measles, mumps and rubella.
- DTaP/Tdap Vaccine to prevent whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus.
- Varicella Vaccine to prevent chickenpox.
- Rotavirus Oral Vaccine to prevent severe diarrhea among young children.
- Meningococcal Vaccine to prevent meningitis among patients attending colleges that require it.
- Influenza (flu) Vaccine to reduce risk of flu illness complications and hospitalization.
- Covid-19 Vaccine to reduce risk of Coronavirus illness complications and spread. Everyone in Washington state age 6 months and over is eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Visit our vaccine page for information on how to schedule an appointment.
