Meet Teri Woo. She studied medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University and has been working with MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital for 7 years at our pediatric urgent care clinics.
Woo’s special interests include family medicine, pediatric urgent care and pediatric pharmacology. As an urgent care provider, she’s always prepared for a little bit of everything when it comes to helping kids feel better. We caught up with Woo to get to know her outside of work.
What is the most rewarding part of working at Mary Bridge Children’s?
I appreciate being able to work with children and their whole families.
What is your Mary Bridge Children’s why?
Mary Bridge Children’s provides excellent pediatric care to the community and I’m proud to be a part of it.
Do you have hobbies outside of work?
I’m a runner when it comes to 5K races, and a distance walker when we’re talking a half or full marathon. Aside from that, I enjoy traveling too.
What would you like your patients to know?
My master’s degree is in family nursing, which is how I approach each of my patients. Every child or adolescent I see comes as part of the bigger family unit, and who is included in their family is always defined by my patient.
What is your favorite way to lighten the mood?
I smile and offer reassurance that everything’s going to be OK.
Kids love Disney. What is your favorite fictional character, Disney or otherwise?
Minnie Mouse is my favorite Disney character.
Kids also love treats. What’s your favorite treat?
Apples and peanut butter.
Mary Bridge Children’s employees are superheroes in their own right. If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I’d want to be known for relieving pain and suffering.
