2023
- For the fifth time, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital is one of only 8 children’s hospitals in the nation awarded ‘Top Children’s Hospital’ status by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization that recognizes hospitals in December.
- Mary Bridge Children’s is honored to have 25 physicians on the Seattle Magazine 2023 list of Top Doctors, as well as seven physicians from our affiliate primary care clinics, including Harbor Pediatrics, Pediatrics Northwest and Woodcreek Pediatrics.
- Mary Bridge Children’s Pediatric Urgent Cares have been recognized as being among the best walk-in/urgent care clinics in the 2023 “Best of South Sound” awards from The Olympian.

- For the fourth time, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital is one of only 12 children’s hospitals in the nation awarded ‘Top Children’s Hospital’ status by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization.

- For the third year in a row, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital was one of only 10 children’s hospitals in the nation awarded ‘Top Children’s Hospital’ status by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital rating organization.
- Seattle magazine honored Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network’s George Makari, MD, as one of the region’s best pediatric neurologists in its 20th annual “Top Doctors” issue.
2019
- For the second year in a row, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital was one of only 10 children’s hospitals in the nation awarded ‘Top Children’s Hospital’ status by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital rating organization.
2018
- Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital was one of only 13 children’s hospitals nationwide awarded “Top Hospital” status by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization.
- Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital was recognized as the June 2018 Hospital of the Month for the National Hospital Improvement Innovation Network, Children’s Hospitals’ Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS).
2013
- Mary Bridge Children’s hospital was recognized, alongside MultiCare Tacoma General and MultiCare Allenmore, for outstanding efforts to reduce patient harm and improve patient safety during the 81st Annual Meeting of the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) in Seattle. The three Tacoma hospitals were the only hospitals in the South Sound to earn the 2013 “Washington State Hospital Association Safe Care in Action” award. The award honors hospitals for decreasing patient harm in 10 key areas.
Other Awards
- MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital has been working hard to keep kids in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit safe from infections. That work was recognized when the Tacoma hospital received the highest rating of any pediatric hospital in Washington in a Consumer Reports story about preventing infections in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
