Round-the-clock, personalized care for children
At Mary Bridge Children’s, we understand that having a child in the hospital affects the whole family — whether it’s planned surgery or an urgent hospitalization. Parents are an important part of a child’s care team, which is why our inpatient doctors conduct rounds in your child’s room with the family present whenever possible.
Mary Bridge Children’s Inpatient Pediatric Service (IPS) team works within our medical-surgical unit and specializes in the care of hospitalized children. The IPS consists of a group of full-time, board-certified pediatricians, also called pediatric hospitalists, who function as an extension of your child’s primary care physician, providing 24-hour, on-site personalized care.

Working with your child’s primary care provider
To help guide you through your child’s inpatient hospital care, Mary Bridge Children’s physicians work with your child’s pediatrician or primary care provider, nurses, and specialists. Your child’s regular doctor or other health care provider will be updated throughout inpatient treatment. Upon discharge, your child is returned to the care of their provider, along with a discharge summary and a follow-up call.
