Cutting-edge techniques for your child’s surgery

Advances in instrumentation and expertise allow Mary Bridge Children’s to offer state-of-the-art surgical procedures. We are proud to provide excellent surgical outcomes through less invasive approaches.

Minimally invasive surgical techniques result in smaller incisions, less pain, reduced scarring and shorter hospital stays and recovery times for children. As a result, our young patients can resume their normal activities sooner and get back to the business of simply being a child.

Our pediatric surgeons use minimally invasive techniques with the following surgical procedures:

  • Laparoscopic procedures including:
  • Appendectomy
  • Bowel resection
  • Cholecystectomy
  • Fundoplication (for gastroesophageal reflux disease)
  • Gastrostomy tube
  • Hernia repair
  • Nuss procedure (repair of pectus excavatum)
  • Pneumothorax (collapsed lung)
  • Thoracoscopic lung resection (for congenital anomalies and cancer)
  • Thoracoscopic treatment for empyema
  • Transanal repair of Hirschsprung’s disease
