Outpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Treatment for complex mental health conditions

Mary Bridge Children’s Outpatient Psychiatry is a medically focused psychiatry service. We work closely with other providers to help evaluate and create treatment plans for children with complex medical and mental health conditions.

How we help

Our program provides consultation for medically complex patients where psychiatric symptoms may result from underlying medical conditions, or when psychiatric symptoms are interfering with the treatment of chronic medical illness.

Typical referral concerns include:

  • Psychiatric problems complicated by other medical or psychiatric conditions
  • Unintended medication reactions
  • Symptoms outside of standard diagnostic categories

Please note: Our clinic is not equipped to manage psychiatric disorders where the primary concern involves eating disorder, chemical dependency, disruptive behaviors or patients in active crisis. We are unable to provide service or support outside of normal business hours, including evenings or weekends. In cases where patients are already enrolled in community mental health, we request they pursue psychiatric services through that agency.

Referral process

A referral from your child’s provider is required to receive services. Once we receive a referral, our nursing staff reviews it to determine the appropriate next steps and resources. We accept patients from outside of Mary Bridge Children’s Network.

We have expanded access to virtual health. Ask if a virtual health appointment may be appropriate for your child.
